Embodiment Construction

[0016] now turn figure 1 , a first embodiment of the invention is a computer device 20 adapted to perform a method of automatically unlocking a persistent area in memory. The computer device 20 is an example of an information processing device. The computer device 20 includes a CPU 22 as a main processor, which is installed in a socket of an information processing device, and connected to a platform control hub (PCH) 26 and a flash memory chip 30 . figure 1 Such a configuration shown can be applied to any type of information processing apparatus. exist figure 1 In this case, the CPU 22 is directly connected to the PCH 26 instead of the flash chip 30. Instead, the CPU 22 can only access the flash chip 30 through the PCH 26 . PCH 26 is connected to flash chip 30 and is also connected to baseband management controller (BMC) 28 . BMC 28 is a service processor in computer device 20 . In addition, NVDIMM 24 is connected to CPU 22 and may be accessed by CPU 22 at the request of...

Abstract

A method for unlocking a persistent region in a memory of an information processing apparatus is disclosed. The method comprises the following steps of: configuring firmware of the information processing equipment to check whether a persistent area in a memory is locked or not; instructing the controller to obtain the stored cryptophrase from the storage device if the persistent region is locked;and unlocking the persistent region in the memory of the information processing device by using the cryptographic phrase. By storing the cryptographic phrases in the storage device, a user does not need to manually input the cryptographic phrases each time to unlock the persistent area, so that the working efficiency is improved, and an event that the cryptographic phrases are lost or the unlocking fails does not easily occur in the system.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to memory devices in computers, and more particularly to the management of persistent areas in memory devices. Background technique [0002] In recent years, storage technology in modern computers has developed rapidly, providing computers with more options for storing data. For example, non-volatile dual in-line memory modules (NVDIMMs) are beginning to be placed in servers, and they are physically interface-compatible with conventional dual in-line memory modules (DIMMs). Some types of NVDIMM provide two different modes, memory mode and App Direct mode. In memory mode, NVDIMM works like a DIMM. When the system is powered off, the data disappears; in App Direct mode, even when the system is powered off, the data disappears. , the data is still saved. In App Direct mode, NVDIMMs thus behave like traditional persistent storage devices (such as hard drives) and contain one or more persistent regions for persistent data sto...
