Embodiment Construction

[0034] In the ensuing description, one or more specific details are presented in order to provide an in-depth understanding of examples of embodiments of the specification. Embodiments may be obtained without one or more of the specific details, or with other methods, components, materials, etc. In other instances, known structures, materials, or operations are not shown or described in detail so that certain aspects of the embodiments would not be obscured.

[0035] References to "an embodiment" or "one embodiment" in the framework of this specification are intended to mean that a particular configuration, structure or characteristic described with respect to the embodiment is included in at least one embodiment. Thus, phrases such as "in an embodiment" or "in one embodiment," which may appear in one or more places in this specification, do not necessarily refer to the same embodiment.

[0036] Furthermore, particular configurations, structures or characteristics may be comb...

Abstract

The invention provides a sensor circuit, a corresponding system and a method. A circuit includes a first current source configured to produce a first current in a first current line through a first diode-connected transistor having a voltage drop across the first diode-connected transistor, the first current being proportional to an absolute temperature via a first proportionality factor; a secondcurrent source configured to produce a second current in a second current line through a second diode-connected transistor having a voltage drop across the second diode-connected transistor, the second current being proportional to the absolute temperature via a second proportionality factor; a third current source configured to produce a third current in a third current line through a third diode-connected transistor having a voltage drop across the third diode-connected transistor; and a processing network including a sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter, the processing network being coupled to the, the second, and the third diode-connected transistors.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Applications [0002] This application claims priority from Italian Patent Application No. 102018000004496 filed on April 13, 2018, which is incorporated herein by reference. technical field [0003] This document relates generally to temperature sensors. Background technique [0004] A digital temperature sensor provides a digital output signal that encodes information about the temperature sensed by a sensor circuit included in the temperature sensor. [0005] To obtain a temperature-dependent output signal, a digital temperature sensor may include a reference signal that is normalized to a voltage V REF A first subcircuit for simulating a temperature-dependent signal, followed by an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) subcircuit in which the temperature-dependent voltage signal is converted to a digital signal via an ADC. The temperature-dependent voltage signal is often referred to as the proportional-to-absolute-temperature (PTAT) vol...
