Abstract

The invention relates to an online monitoring and pre-warning system and method for the tension of a carrier cable or contact wire of a railway catenary. The monitoring system comprises a tension collection device, a data center station and a monitoring terminal, wherein the tension collection device comprises a lateral pressure tension sensor, a microprocessor module, a power module and a devicestructure housing; and the tension collection device is arranged on the carrier cable (or contact wire) of the catenary, and can directly obtain a tension value of the carrier cable (or contact wire)and transmit a fault diagnosis result to operation and maintenance staff. The lateral pressure tension sensor with relatively high power consumption is controlled through hardware to achieve periodiccollection of a tension value and reduction of the wireless transmission quantity of business data, thereby greatly reducing the system power consumption of the tension collection device. The device is simple in structure and relatively light in weight, can directly measure the tension value of the carrier cable (or contact wire); the problems that the installation mode is inconvenient, a block fault of a catenary tension compensation device cannot be diagnosed and the power supply reliability of a power supply is relatively poor in the prior art are solved; and the device has relatively highengineering application value.
