Embodiment

[0046] (motorcycle 1)

[0047] Below, based on Figure 1 to Figure 5 , a road-type motorcycle 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described. Hereinafter, terms used to indicate directions such as front and rear, left and right, and up and down are based on directions seen from the rider of the motorcycle 1 . Arrows Fr, Rr, L, R, U, and Lo appropriately attached in each drawing indicate the front, rear, left, right, upper, and lower sides of the motorcycle 1, respectively.

[0048] refer to Figure 1 ~ Figure 3 The motorcycle 1 is mainly composed of the following components: a body frame 2; a steering mechanism 3 and a front wheel 4 arranged in front of the body frame 2; a fuel tank 5 and a rider seat 6 arranged above the body frame 2; A pair of left and right swing arms 7 and rear wheels 8 at the rear bottom of the vehicle body frame 2; an engine 9 supported by the vehicle body frame 2; an intake device 11 and an exhaust device 12 connected to the ...

Abstract

The invention provides a motorcycle to suppress heat damage to a heat exchanger by heat from a catalytic device and improve cooling performance of an engine. The motorcycle is provided with: a body frame (2); an engine (9) supported by the body frame (2); an exhaust pipe (86) through which exhaust gas discharged from an exhaust port (60) of the engine (9) flows; a catalytic device (81) arranged inthe exhaust pipe (86) and disposed in front of the engine (9); and a heat exchanger (14) disposed in front of the engine (9). The body frame (2) is provided with a lower frame (23) extending downwardfrom a head pipe (21). When viewed from the front of the vehicle, a catalyst device (81) is disposed on one side in the left-right direction of the lower frame (23), a heat exchanger (14) is disposedon the other side, and when viewed from the side of the vehicle, at least one portion of the catalyst device (81) and at least one portion of the heat exchanger (14) and the lower frame (23) are overlapped.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a motorcycle equipped with a catalytic device for purifying exhaust gas. Background technique [0002] Conventionally, a motorcycle has an exhaust pipe through which exhaust gas discharged from an exhaust port of an engine flows, and a catalytic device for purifying the exhaust gas is provided in the exhaust pipe. In recent years, in order to cope with the limitation of exhaust gas, it is required to improve the purification performance of catalytic devices for exhaust gas. In order to satisfy such a request, it is important to dispose the catalyst device as far upstream as possible from the exhaust pipe. Therefore, the catalyst device may be disposed in front of the engine in some cases. [0003] In addition, conventionally, motorcycles are equipped with a heat exchanger for cooling a cooling medium that cools an engine. This heat exchanger is usually arranged in front of the engine, and is cooled by running wind. ...
