Abstract

The present invention provides a heat exchanger and a method for using the same, capable of effectively heating a fluid to be heated by using latent heat of water vapor contained in superheated watervapor. The heat exchanger comprises: a heat exchange pipe (2) through which the fluid to be heated flows; a downstream container (3) that accommodates the downstream portion (2a) of the heat exchangepipe (2) and supplies superheated steam; an upstream container (4) which stores the upstream portion (2b) of the heat exchange pipe (2) and supplies steam that has passed through the downstream container (3). The fluid to be heated flowing through the downstream portion (2a) of the heat exchange pipe (2) is heated by the sensible heat of the superheated steam supplied to the downstream container (3), and the fluid to be heated flowing through the upstream portion (2b) of the heat exchange pipe (2) is heated by the latent heat of the steam supplied to the upstream container (4).
