Abstract

The invention belongs to the technical field of image processing and relates to a composite insulator shed crack defect identification method. However, there is no identification method for the shed crack defect of a composite insulator at present, therefore, the invention provides the composite insulator shed crack defect identification method. The method comprises the following steps of: 1) obtaining an image containing cracks; 2) preprocessing the image containing the cracks; and 3) performing feature extraction on the cracks to obtain the contours of the crack, and then identifying the cracks. Therefore, the contour features of the cracks can be effectively obtained, and the identification of the crack defects of the composite insulator is realized. The area proportion of a crack regionalization area in the area of a whole insulator shed is calculated through further processing.
