The arcuate frame secondary safety device comprises a primary safety device, which maintains the safety arcuate frame (4) in an angular position adapted to the body structure of a passenger during travel of the amusement ride; at least one first locking element (21) and at least one second locking element (22), wherein the at least one first locking element (21) and the at least one second locking element (22) are arranged at a distance (25) from each other; in the event ofa failure of the primary safety device, the safety bracket (4) can be moved at an allowable opening angle; the permissible opening angle is dependent on the distance (25) between the at least one first locking element (21) and the at least one second locking element (22); and when the allowable opening angle is exceeded, the at least one first locking element (21) and the at least one second locking element (22) lock the safety bracket (4).
