The invention discloses a method and control system for detecting an inclined chain of a scraper conveyor based on image recognition. The control system comprises an image collection device, an imagerecognition module, a switching value output module, a programmable controller (PLC) module and an upper computer. The detecting method comprises the steps that real-time working video information ofthe scraper conveyor is collected; a single-frame image of a collected video is preprocessed; and a scraper contour is extracted from the preprocessed image, straight line information of the scraper contour is obtained, the angle between a scraper and the chain is obtained based on a straight line of the scraper contour and a straight line of the chain, and whether the scraper is inclined or not is judged according to the angle. The fault of the inclined chain of the scraper conveyor is real-timely detected on line through an image recognition and video analysis technology, an operation stateof the scraper conveyor is automatically controlled by combining a PLC, the automatic control degree of industrial production is increased, and the reliable technical guarantee is provided for the stability of industrial production and operation.
