Abstract

The embodiment of the invention provides a volatile substance detection device and method. The device comprises a closed shell and a gas sampling valve arranged on the side wall of the closed shell, the bottom of the closed shell is made of a building simulation material; wherein the closed shell is used for being placed on a to-be-detected area so as to detect volatile substances emitted from theto-be-detected area; and the gas sampling valve is used for acquiring sampling gas in the closed shell so as to determine the concentration of volatile substances in the sampling gas. According to the device, the simulation process of the influence of the volatile substances on the building is realized, the approximate measurement of the concentration of the volatile substances in the building iscompleted, the risk of the health condition can be evaluated based on the measured concentration of the volatile substances, and the condition that the volatile substances influence the health of a human body is prevented.
