Abstract

A method and apparatus for generating a series of frames by means of a synthesizer are provided. The method may include performing full rendering with a GPU to generate a first frame in a color buffer for output to and display on a display panel; generating, using the GPU, a set of metadata for at least one subsequent frame in a metadata buffer; and synthesizing at least one subsequent frame according to the previous frame information and the set of metadata of the at least one subsequent frame by using a synthesizer to generate the at least one subsequent frame in the color buffer, and outputting the at least one subsequent frame to the display panel and displaying the at least one subsequent frame on the display panel. According to the method and the device for generating the series of frames by means of the synthesizer, some rendering tasks can be unloaded from the GPU to the synthesizer, so that the overall performance of electronic equipment is enhanced.
