Embodiment Construction

[0059] By analyzing the user's genetic profile (genes), the risk or likelihood of developing long-term chronic diseases such as obesity, type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease can be judged. Such genetic risk is a fixed variable that cannot be adjusted. However, there are still several modifiable factors, such as diet and physical activity, that can reduce a user's risk of chronic disease.

[0060] Embodiments described herein aim to address the aforementioned issues by modifying the aforementioned product recommendations with measurements indicative of a user's physiological function, such as measurements indicative of a user's caloric expenditure over the past week or user's heart rate data. By taking into account other factors (such as non-genetic factors) that can increase the risk of chronic diseases, users can be empowered to choose products that are more likely to benefit their health.

[0061] For example, food recommendations could be personalized based on both a...

Abstract

A wearable device comprises: a memory configured to store product codes for consumable, topically applied and / or body-worn products and data indicating respective product recommendations or from which product recommendations can be derived; a product code reader for reading product codes from products; one or more inertial sensors for obtaining motion data for a wearer of the device; a visual indicator for providing a visual indication of a product recommendation, using data stored in the memory, in response to a read product code. The wearable device further comprises a processor configured to process the motion data to identify periods when the wearer is in a sitting position or other sedentary state, analyse the occurrence and durations of the periods, and modulate the recommendations accordingly for at least a subset of the product codes, whereby product recommendations change depending upon the identified periods.

Description

technical field [0001] The present disclosure relates to wearable devices and methods for providing product recommendations. The present disclosure also relates to monitoring systems, wearable devices and methods for alerting users to the negative impacts of the user's environment and / or lifestyle such as sedentary behavior. The present invention is particularly, but not exclusively, concerned with providing recommendations based on product content and personal biometric information of consumers. Background technique [0002] Semiconductor nanotechnology and optical technology, in particular, have made significant contributions to people's lifestyles by promoting the miniaturization of hardware. The application of these technologies to sequencing and genotyping has given rise to so-called "lab-on-a-chip" systems. Among them, according to the biological problem or target gene to be solved, primers or probes are designed accordingly, and these two types of substances are mor...
