Embodiment Construction

[0034] This disclosure can be applied to similar figure 1 The configuration of the configuration represented in . figure 1 Shown is a wireless communication system 100 with a network manager 101 in communication with several wireless entities 102 (also referred to as nodes). These nodes 102A-D are equipped with at least one antenna, which is alternatively used for transmission and reception of incoming signals. However, when more antennas are applied, the functionality of the antennas may change. For example, an antenna may be a receiving antenna and another antenna may be a transmitting antenna, or simply, where multiple antennas are applied, they may cooperate with each other to receive / transmit more precise information. The nodes are also equipped with an RF front end that allows communication over a wireless network. Nodes can represent different components of the substation automation system, such as gateways, circuit breakers, protectors, exchange control messages.

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method, a node and a detector for detecting an interfering signal in a wireless network communication system comprising a network manager and several nodes. Each node (202B) comprises a detector (204) for receiving input signals from at least one antenna, a delay component (205) for delaying a received input signal, and a receiver (206RX) for determining an energy pattern of expected received input signals. The detector (204) is configured to send an alarm signal to the receiver (206RX) depending on the presence or absence of an interfering signal from an interferer 203 and an active / inactive state of the receiver (206RX).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the detection of external disturbances in industrial wireless networks. Background technique [0002] Industrial communication systems are used in the automation of power systems, such as substation automation or the control of high-voltage frequency converters. To enhance flexibility and scalability as well as reduce costs, it is convenient to utilize wireless networks instead of wired networks such as Ethernet-based ones. [0003] One of the biggest problems when introducing wireless networking in industrial control systems has to do with the shared nature of the radio channel, which means that if two or more devices transmit simultaneously on the same frequency band, their transmissions will collide, potentially effectively prevent the intended receiver from decoding them correctly. For this reason, access to channels in industrial wireless networks is strictly scheduled, for example using systems with time scheduling such...
