Problems solved by technology

Although the ecological consequences of permanently elevated light levels in water bodies are still poorly understood, there is evidence that night-time lighting may induce behavioral changes in aquatic biota
These changes disrupt predator-prey interactions, which can affect entire food webs

Abstract

The invention relates to an aquatic organism light exposure behavior acquisition device and a use method thereof. The acquisition device comprises a behavior acquisition module and a light controller. The behavior acquisition module comprises a camera obscura; a light plate which is arranged on the upper surface in the camera obscura and is used for providing different spectrums, illumination intensities and illumination periods; and a camera which is arranged on the side wall in the camera obscura and is used for recording and collecting aquatic organism movement behaviors under exposure of different spectrums, illumination intensities and illumination periods. The light controller is connected with the light plate and used for adjusting the spectrum, the illumination intensity and the illumination period of the light plate. According to the invention, the full-band spectrum can be realized, the illumination intensity and the photoperiod can be accurately regulated and controlled, and accurate environmental conditions are provided for the light exposure test; real-time tracking of aquatic organism behaviors can be realized; and multiple groups of tests can be recorded simultaneously, so that the test cost is saved, and the test time is shortened.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to the technical field of fish behavior, in particular to a device for collecting aquatic organism light exposure behavior and a method for using the same. Background technique [0002] In most ecosystems, light is one of the most important cues driving physiological and behavioral processes in organisms. More recently, however, these natural light and dark patterns have often been disrupted due to the increase in artificial lighting at night in urban areas. In addition, there is growing evidence that exposure to light at night can have multiple effects on populations and ecosystem function, as it disrupts the circadian rhythms of many species, thereby affecting their feeding, migration and reproduction, and distribution. The effects of artificial light at night are most pronounced in terrestrial and riparian environments, but aquatic ecosystems also experience increased light levels, whether due to direct glare from street and s...
