Abstract

To provide a temperature measuring instrument with which it is possible to measure a wide range of temperatures with a single thermometer and which provides good visibility that enables apprehension of a measured temperature at a glance (intuitively). According to the present invention, an electronic paper type temperature measuring instrument is provided with: a display unit for displaying a measured temperature in multiple display modes; a display data storage unit that has stored therein, for each of the display modes, a plurality of temperature display screens in which the measured temperature is displayed by a bar graph and/or text along a temperature scale provided displayable on the display unit in a scale readable by the human eyes; and a display mode switching unit which, by using a predetermined temperature as a threshold value, performs display by switching to one of the display modes corresponding to the measured temperature.
