Abstract

The invention belongs to a method for testing cotton linters, and particularly relates to a method for testing the polymerization degree of the cotton linters. The method comprises the following steps: (1) sampling: uniformly sampling 4-5g of cotton linters, picking out impurity points in the sample, and weighing 0.0350 g + / -0.0002 g of the cotton linter sample from which the impurities are picked out; (2) putting the weighed sample into a 60ml brown bottle containing 30g of a copper wire, then adding 50ml of a copper ammonia solution, and completely dissolving the sample by using the copper ammonia solution; (3) determining the time t1 and t0 when the cellulose copper ammonia solution and the blank copper ammonia solution respectively flow through two scribed lines of the Ubbelohde viscometer by using the Ubbelohde viscometer; and (4) calculating the increased specific viscosity according to an increased specific viscosity calculation formula: nsp = (t1 / t0)-1: (5), and calculating the polymerization degree according to a polymerization degree calculation formula: DP = nsp / {(1 + 0.29 nsp) * K * c}. The method can provide data reference for classification, inspection and use production of the cotton linters, and can improve the product quality and the product stability.
