A load-carrying vehicle having a load bin and a method of controlling the load-carrying vehicle are disclosed. A load-carrying vehicle (100), comprising: a chassis (102); a load loading box (104), the load loading box (104) being connected to the chassis; a plurality of wheels (106a-d); a suspension device (108), the suspension device (108) coupling the wheel to the chassis; wherein the suspension device is configured to controllably lower the loading box such that the loading box is in contact with the at least two wheels. A method of operating a load-carrying vehicle (100) includes, in a load receiving mode (302), controlling the suspension device to lower the load box such that the load box rests on at least two wheels of the vehicle.
