Abstract

A filter housing assembly for fluid filtration is provided that may be attached to or removed from a filter base by a push-actuated release. The filter housing assembly has a top portion having an inlet port and an outlet port extending therefrom, and a protrusion extending from a longitudinal axial center of the filter housing. The inlet port and the outlet port are formed in a hourglass shape. And a filter key having a base with a recess for mating with the projection, at least one finger extending from the base, and an electronic circuit component housing attached thereto for receiving the printed circuit board, connected to the filter housing top by mating the top projection with the filter key recess. The inlet port and the outlet port each have at least one cavity for the passage of fluid, wherein each cavity is exposed in a direction facing away from the printed circuit board.
