Abstract

The invention relates to the design of an injection unit for an injection moulding machine in the form of a compact construction with a crank drive (28) and lever displacement gear (30) for the injection movement. Said compact construction is horizontally displaceable with the injection cylinder on a base-plate as well as drive and transfer mechanisms for axial and rotatory movement of the preplastifying spindle. A pair of drive levers (30, 30'), attached to the rearmost bearing, move the injection screw (4) relative to the baseplate, in order to carry out the injection displacement of the injection screw (4). The internal relocation of the lever drive gear (30) allows a discernible shortening of the whole injection moulding machine and, furthermore, a favorable application of electric motor drives, in particular of servo motors.
