Abstract

A communication cable comprising: an elongated cable jacket having a lumen, a plurality of twisted pairs of insulated conductors disposed within the lumen of the cable jacket, each conductor insulated by a polymer layer. Each insulated conductor within each twisted pair of conductors has a laying helix in a first direction of rotation, and each twisted pair has a binding helix in a second direction of rotation, the second direction of rotation being opposite to the first direction of rotation. With this structure, communication cables can provide better crosstalk and attenuation performance. When twisted pairs and bundles are in the same direction of rotation, good performance cannot be achieved even with foam insulators.
