Problems solved by technology

[0005] Displaying printed media on typical monitors often does not tell whether a document is an original or a painting
Whether the critical problem is poor screen resolution or poor transmission capability, resolving power is usually limited to what is allowable for the particular technology used
Also lacks the depth effect of a painting when displayed digitally on a screen and in two dimensions in a printed medium, or the number of pages at the end of a story

Embodiment Construction

[0020] The following description is of the best mode currently contemplated for carrying out the invention. This description is not presented in a limiting sense, but rather is presented to illustrate the general principles of the invention. The scope of the invention should be determined with reference to the appended claims.

[0021] Now refer to the attached figure 1 , representing a schematic diagram of a device for displaying digitized files. Digitized documents such as photographs or scanned high resolution frames are stored in nonvolatile memory 20 . It is conceivable to have a memory of its own, such as a hard disk or a CD-ROM, however any other kind of digital storage means could be used. A processing means 10 is connected to this memory for retrieving the document data and subsequently processing these data into the image format to be displayed. The display 30 is a display screen, preferably a so-called touch screen, which can be controlled according to user comm...

Abstract

An apparatus and a method for displaying a digitised document to an audience. A memory ( 20 ) is provided for storing of at least one digitised document in a computer readable file format, wherein a processing unit ( 10 ) is adapted to retrieve documents and process it into a near-identical document replica. Moreover, a display ( 30 ) visualises document and animation of the document, such as the turning of a layer, being controlled by the audience. The function of the apparatus is characterised by the audience indicating when real-time animation of a layer ( 51, 52 ) is about to begin or revert to its initial state, and the indication is governed by crossing a dividing line with an indicating element substantially in lateral direction.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to producing valuable or rare documents accessible to the public in an engaging manner. More specifically, the present invention relates to an apparatus and method for realizing page flipping in digitized documents. Background technique [0002] In the past 20 years, and especially in the last 10 years, the development of information technology has opened up new and exciting possibilities. The information available from the Internet is growing dramatically. The ability to consult information of all kinds at high speed has become common to users of computers and computer-controlled devices, and especially for the younger generation, the Internet now represents the first choice when searching for information. The impact of the Internet on everyone's daily life cannot be overestimated, especially in the near future which will not last longer than a few years. [0003] However, to achieve the desired impact, available and a...
