Embodiment Construction

[0036] figure 1 The system according to the invention for generating CT image data sets and irradiating a tumor patient 1 is shown, which has a housing 5 in which a rotating frame or stand is located, on which an X-ray tube 2 is mounted and the detection system opposite it Device 3. The patient 7 can be moved along the system axis 4 through the opening 8 in the center of the rotating frame by means of the longitudinally movable patient couch 6 and into the region of the opening 8, where the patient can be scanned without repositioning and with the same X-ray tubes deliver therapeutic radiation. Control, data acquisition and treatment planning are all carried out via a computing and control unit 9 , which is connected via control and data lines 10 to the radiation system and the mobile couch. Each method step of the present invention passes program Prg 1 to Prg n Execute and implement in computing unit 9.

Abstract

A system is disclosed for producing CT image data records and for irradiating a patient. The system includes exactly one rotary frame for holding at least one x-ray tube, and one radiation detector that is situated opposite, the x-ray tube being equipped with a diaphragm that can be dynamically adjusted during the rotation of the rotary frame. The system includes a first operating mode for imaging in which during the revolution of the rotary frame the x-ray tube radiate a ray fan of constant fan angle onto the oppositely situated detector, and CT image data records are calculated from the measured data of the detector. It includes a second operating mode for irradiation in which by using at least one imaging x-ray tube used in the first operating mode radiates an x-ray fan that varies with reference to alignment during the rotation of the rotary frame, is narrower perpendicular to the system axis, and remains aligned with the site of at least one tumor in the patient independently of the angular position of the rotary frame.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a system for generating CT image data sets in a first operating mode, for automatic radiation planning and for irradiating tumor patients with an x-ray source in a second operating mode. Background technique [0002] A similar system combining CT imaging and therapeutic radiation of the patient is known, for example, from patent application US2003 / 0048868A1. This patent application discloses a combined therapeutic radiation and imaging system having, on the one hand, a CT scanner comprising at least one x-ray tube and a detector arranged opposite it, wherein the x-ray tube and the detector are mounted on a rotating frame (=stand) and rotate around the patient in order to scan the patient while also moving the patient along the system axis through the scan area via the movable patient couch. On the other hand, a separate radiation device is arranged outside the support but in the scanning plane of the support, which is used for...
