Abstract

Disclosed is a method for producing a resin composition wherein a cyclic olefin polymer (A) having a glass transition temperature of 60-200 DEG C and a soft polymer (B) having a glass transition temperature of not more than 0 DEG C are melt-mixed. In this method, a part of the cyclic olefin polymer (A) and the soft polymer (B) together with a radical initiator (C) are melt-mixed in advance, and then the rest of the cyclic olefin polymer (A) is added thereto for melt-mixing. By adding the cyclic olefin polymer (A) in two additions, a mixture having a crosslinked structure can be diluted with the cyclic olefin polymer (A) having no crosslinked structure, thereby suppressing increase in the melt viscosity. Consequently, there can be obtained a resin composition which is excellent in wear resistance and melt moldability.
