Problems solved by technology

[0007] Therefore, in the vehicle lamp described in Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-231013, around the light source (light emitting diode), it is necessary to ensure (Reflecting member) space, as a result, compared with the case where no reflector (reflecting member) is arranged around the light source (light emitting diode), the overall size of the vehicle lamp becomes larger

Embodiment Construction

[0055] Before describing the first embodiment of the vehicular lamp of the present invention, an embodiment related to the vehicular lamp of the present invention will be described.

[0056] FIG. 1 is a diagram for explaining light distribution standards of a vehicle lamp. In FIG. 1 , "H" indicates a horizontal line, and "V" indicates a vertical line intersecting the main optical axis of the vehicle lamp. "5°U" means 5° upward from the horizontal line H, and "5°D" means 5° downward from the horizontal line H. "10°R" means 10° to the right of the direction of the main optical axis of the vehicular lamp, and "10°L" means 10° to the left of the direction of the main optical axis of the vehicular lamp.

[0057] For example, in the light distribution standard of a rear fog lamp, it is stipulated that the luminous intensity on the line HV in FIG. above. In addition, the luminous intensity of the inner part of the dotted line in FIG. 1 is specified to be not less than 75 (cd) and ...

Abstract

A lighting device such as a vehicle lighting device can be configured to be easily adapted to design changes in order to comply with various required or desired luminous intensity distributions. Light emitted from a light source at a large angle with respect to a main optical axis of the light source is more significantly condensed closer to the main optical axis than is the light emitted from the light source at a relatively smaller angle with respect to the main optical axis of the light source. The lighting device can include a lens which has a first lens cut and a second lens cut. The first lens cut can allow light emitted from the light source at a relatively smaller angle with respect to the main optical axis of the light source to pass therethrough. The second lens cut is arranged outside the first lens cut so as to condense light, emitted from the light source at a larger angle, close to the main optical axis of the light source.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a vehicular lamp which is configured such that the light emitted from a light source forms a large angle to the main optical axis of the light source compared to light emitted from a light source at a small angle to the main optical axis of the light source. The light emitted from a light source is focused to a greater extent, and particularly relates to a vehicle lamp capable of downsizing the entire vehicle lamp and enabling easy design changes to meet a desired luminous intensity distribution. Background technique [0002] Conventionally, a lamp for a vehicle is known in which the light emitted from the light source (light-emitting diode) is at a small angle to the main optical axis (optical axis) of the light source (light-emitting diode). The luminaire concentrates to a greater extent the light emitted from the light source (LED) at a large angle to its main optical axis (optical axis). An example of such a vehicl...
