Abstract

A valve unit is provided to control the channel opening precisely in the biochip by increasing speed of channel opening compared to the conventional valve unit with plugs consisting of wax, minimize the substrate by containing no heating tool of wax, and reduce the manufacturing costs of the valve unit and apparatus by containing smaller number of energy source than number of plugs. A valve unit(50A) comprises: a plurality of plugs(60) which contains a phase transition material which is a solid phase at room temperature and a plurality of micro heating particles which are dispersed to the phase transition material, absorb the external electromagnetic energy and emit heat, and block fluid flow formed by the channel(55); and external energy sources(70) for irradiating the electromagnetic wave to the plugs, wherein the micro heating particles emit heat and phase transition material is dissolved when the external electromagnetic wave are irradiated to the plugs. The valve unit further comprises a phase transition material chamber(65) for receiving the dissolved phase transition material and micro heating particles mixed thereto.
