Embodiment 3

[0048] For the preparation of the gel system according to the formulation of Example 2, Durotak 387-2287 was provided. Weigh out the glycerin, propylene glycol, and pine needle oil and homogenize with a medium agitation speed. Thereafter, while stirring, camphor and menthol were sequentially weighed and added and dissolved. To this was added menthol to produce an opaque solution, then, while stirring, hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin and silicic acid (Sidem 22S) were weighed and added and stirred until the mass was uniform. Stirring is continued until there is no further change in the viscosity of the mass. Cool the mass in an ice bath and continue stirring at the lowest stirring level. The karaya gum was then added and homogenized while stirring, keeping the stirrer at the lowest stirring level and continuing to cool the mass without interruption.

[0049] The resulting mass was coated on a nonwoven (Vilmed M1585 x / Hy) and dried. Finally, a single-sided siliconized paper was ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a hydrophilic gel system for cosmetic and / or skin care applications. Said gel system comprises a detachable carrier film and a hydrogel which contains at least 15 percent by weight of karaya gum and whose water concentration is less than 5 percent by weight.

Description

Background technique [0001] Skin care creams used in the cosmetic field often contain hydrogels. Consumers love these creams for their satisfying, cooling effect. However, skin care creams containing hydrogels are considered to have the disadvantage that these semi-solid preparations always leave a film on the skin which can stick to textiles or be inadvertently wiped off. Contents of the invention [0002] It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a product for topical use in the cosmetic field comprising a hydrogel which does not leave a wet film on the skin. [0003] Another disadvantage of the hydrogel itself is that as the hydrogel absorbs water from the skin with "non-sweat", the hydrogel will gradually swell, lose its cohesive force and start to flow, the term "sweat-free" refers to Moisture evaporates imperceptibly through the skin. [0004] It is therefore a further object of the present invention to provide a product comprising a hydrogel whi...
