[0125]Various amounts of PP3505G were mixed with 0.25" long polyester fibers obtained from Invista Corporation in a Haake single screw extruder at 175°C. The strands exiting the extruder were cut into 0.5" lengths and injected using a Boy 50M ton The molding machine was injection molded at 205°C into a mold kept at 60°C. Injection pressure and nozzle pressure were maintained at 2300 psi. Samples were molded according to ASTM D3763 geometry and tested for instrumented impact under standard automotive conditions for interior components (25 lbs at 15 MPH at -29°C). In Table 1 the total energy absorbed and the impact results are given.
