Embodiment 1

[0139] The topical compositions of Table 1 were prepared by filling a container with deionized water, then adding (in order) ethanol, premix (A) and premix (B) until homogeneous. Premix (A) was prepared by first loading hexanediol in another container and adding Kytamer PC until homogeneous. Premix (B) was prepared by charging a further container with hexanediol and adding Flamenco Summit Red and Flamenco Summit Gold. The resulting composition is placed in an applicator, such as the applicator shown in Figures 3-5.

Embodiment 2

[0143] The topical compositions in Table 2 were prepared by filling a container with deionized water, followed by the addition of ethanol, Kytamer PC and Advanced Moisturizing Complex and premix in that order until homogeneous. The premix was prepared by first loading hexanediol in another container, then adding silica shell, silk, Flamenco red, and Flamenco gold in that order until homogeneous.

Embodiment 3

[0147] The topical compositions of Table 3 were prepared by filling a container with deionized water, then adding (in that order) sodium chloride, glycerin, DC 2501 and ZILGEL with moderate mixing. Combine the hexanediol and Kytamer to form a premix, then add to the container. Continuing to mix, the vessel is heated to a temperature of about 60-65°C. The above ingredients constitute the aqueous phase. In a separate vessel prepare the oil phase by mixing together items 8-15. It is heated to a temperature of about 60-65°C. Then, add the oil phase to the water phase and continue mixing for 5 minutes. Then, cool with moderate mixing.

[0148] The compositions described above are individually placed into an applicator, such as the applicator described above in connection with Figures 3-5. Dispense the composition according to the directions, and apply to areas in need of wrinkle reduction, such as the area around the eyes.

Abstract

The invention features compositions containing at least one tensioning polymer, uses thereof in treating at least one sign of aging, and devices for applying such compositions.

Description

Background of the invention [0001] Many techniques have been proposed to provide cosmetic and / or skin rejuvenating effects to reduce the signs of skin aging. For example, topically applied effector agents such as retinoids are known to be effective in treating wrinkles and other signs of skin aging. These effector agents generally act by stimulating collagen in various biochemical ways. While topical application of these "biochemical" effectors can be very effective, reducing the appearance of wrinkles with many effectors generally requires multiple topical applications and the effects are not immediate. One method of producing quick or immediate results, such as a reduction in the appearance of wrinkles, is the topical application of compositions comprising dispersions of tensioning polymers. [0002] The composition is desired to form a film on the skin that has sufficient tension to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and is resistant to mechanical and chemical degradation ...
