Abstract

The invention relates to a method for resource and admission control subsystem (RACS) to support mobile IP, which comprises that: a home agent send a mobile IP switch notice to the RACS after receiving a mobile registration request forwarded by a mobile node through a foreign agent; after receiving the notice, if the mobile node is judged to move within the same RACS, the RACS sends foreign agentswitch notice to the home agent; after receiving the notice, the home agent chooses a forwarding channel that fulfils the QoS requirements of the mobile node for the mobile node according to the strategy decision information of the mobile node, and then the home agent sends the foreign agent switch complete message with the foreign agent IP address to the RACS; the RACS is positioned to a corresponding transmission processing unit according to the foreign agent IP address and delivers the searched strategy decision information and resource reservation information to the transmission processing unit downwards; the foreign agent chooses the forwarding channel that fulfils the QoS requirements for the mobile node according to the strategy decision information, and then the foreign agent sends the mobile IP switch complete message to the RACS.
