Embodiment Construction

[0041] As can be seen in the attached figure, the textile sensor is built as a laminate-like structure consisting of:

[0042] - A base fabric layer (1) forming one of the outer surfaces of the sensor.

[0043] - An optional surface treatment layer (2) to even out the fabric (1).

[0044] - a single layer of trace conductive layer (3), formed from a conductive fluid, with twisting and optional surface treatment (2) on the fabric layer (1) to conform each trace to a stress or activation zone (31), A stress-sensitive, electrically conductive layer is thus formed, and the tracks ( 3 ) are deposited on the textile layer ( 1 ) and optionally on the surface treatment ( 2 ), for example by digital embossing.

[0045] - An encapsulating and protective layer (4) on the conductive layer (3), such as thermoplastic reactive polymers applied in sheet form using temperature and pressure because of their adhesive properties.

[0046] - a signal converter (7) that converts into a digital si...

Abstract

The invention relates to a torsion and / or tension and / or pressure textile sensor. The textile sensor is a resistive-type sensor consisting of: at least one base layer of fabric (1) comprising any composition and / or mixture and produced using any technique; optionally a surface treatment (2) in order to render the surface of the fabric (1) more uniform; a single conductive layer (3) having tracks distributed geometrically such as to define areas (31) sensitive to stresses from conductive fluids and an encapsulation and protection layer (4) on the conductive layer (3); optionally an upper fabric layer (5); and a least one signal converter (7) which is connected to the tracks, such that when one of the above-mentioned areas (31) is subjected to pressure, tension or torsion a large variation in the resistance of said track is produced, which can be detected by the converter (7). The sensor optionally includes an imprint (6) defining the aforementioned areas (31) on the outer face of either of the fabric layers (1,5).

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a torsion and / or tension and / or pressure sensor of a textile which can be used on one or more areas of the surface of the textile. Background technique [0002] Currently, stress sensors for textiles are mainly based on the use of metal wires. [0003] In textile pressure sensors, some wires form two conductive layers separated by a continuous or discontinuous non-conductive or partially conductive interlayer. [0004] In the case of this structure, the property of the sensor can be a variable resistance, because the two conductive layers can contact each other due to pressure, and the interlayer cannot prevent this, and once the pressure disappears, the two conductive layers return to their original position. Such sensors are called resistive sensors. In other types of sensors, the sensor can be the capacitive variable of a capacitor, which is achieved by interposing an insulating or non-conducting layer between two ...
