[0020] Car 2 ( figure 1 ) has a center of gravity S. The coordinate system is given such that the X-axis X represents the longitudinal axis of the motor vehicle 2 , the Y-axis Y represents the transverse axis of the motor vehicle 2 and the Z-axis Z represents the vertical axis of the motor vehicle 2 . These axes intersect at the center of gravity S. The rear axle of the car 2 has a track SP. The wheelbase between the rear axle and the center of gravity S is L. Furthermore, motor vehicle 2 preferably has four wheels 4 . However, the vehicle 2 can also include more or fewer wheels 4 .

[0021] The pitch rate OMEGA_TETA represents the rotation of car 2 around the transverse axis of car 2 . The car speed VEH_VEL represents the speed of car 2. The wheel speed WHEEL_1_VEL of the first rear wheel and the wheel speed WHEEL_2_VEL of the second rear wheel represent the longitudinal speed of the respective center of gravity of the wheel relative to the ground on which the wheel tra...

Abstract

In order to determine a signal offset (OFF_SIG) of a pitch rate sensor of a vehicle (2), a signal (OMEGA_TETA_SIG) from the pitch rate sensor is detected. Longitudinal acceleration (ACC) of the vehicle (2) is determined. A time derivative (ACC_DRV) of the longitudinal acceleration (ACC) is determined. A check is carried out in order to determine whether a magnitude of the time derivative (ACC_DRV) of the longitudinal acceleration (ACC) is less than a first predefined threshold value (THD_1). The signal offset (OFF_SIG) of the pitch rate sensor is determined on the basis of the signal (OMEGA_TETA_SIG) from the pitch rate sensor if the magnitude of the time derivative (ACC_DRV) of the longitudinal acceleration (ACC) is less than the first predefined threshold value (THD_1).

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method and a device for determining a signal deviation of a pitch rate sensor. The pitch rate sensor is installed inside the car. To determine the signal deviation the signal of the pitch rate sensor is checked. Background technique [0002] The signal from the pitch rate sensor represents the pitch rate of the car. Pitch rate describes the car's rotation about the car's transverse axis, which runs through the car's center of gravity. If the car is not rotating around the transverse axis of the car, the pitch rate sensor will generate a signal, which means that the pitch rate is equal to zero. However, pitch rate sensors often suffer from signal bias. This signal deviation may also be referred to as an offset. This signal deviation has the effect that the pitch rate sensor automatically emits a pitch rate signal not equal to zero in an absolute rest position. If the signal deviation is known, this deviation can be taken...
