Benefits of technology

This patented method involves making an organophillum type clay called Montmorillonites by combining specific atoms together through strong interactions between them (Si - H) which makes these materials stick better when used for various applications like adhesives. These properties allow this material to perform well on different types of plastics while still maintaining its effectiveness over time.

Problems solved by technology

This patented technical problem addressed by this patents relates to modifying or improving certain types of natural substances like clay through various methods that involve adding specific molecules called functional groups on their surfaces. These modifications are important because they improve physical properties and reduce costs compared to existing techniques involving expensive raw ingredients.

Abstract

The invention provides a silicone-containing exfoliated organo montmorillonite and a preparation method thereof. The preparation method comprises the following steps of: (1) adding the mixture of organic intercalation and inorganic montmorillonite to ethanol water for reaction, wherein the organic intercalation is selected from hydroxymethyl dodecyl ammonium chloride, amidocyanogen methyl octadecyl ammonium chloride, double (2-hydroxyethyl group) methyl dodecyl ammonium chloride or double (2-amidocyanogen) methyl octadecyl ammonium chloride; and (2) adding silicon oil to product of step (1) for reaction and collecting silicone exfoliated organo montmorillonite from the product of the reaction. The prepared silicone exfoliated organo montmorillonite can be directly applied to processes of manufacturing polymers such as silastic and the like, and fussy solution and meltdown intercalation can be avoided; size distribution of lamina is equal and the distribution range of size distribution is between 50 and 90 nm; the preparation process is simple and can be easily carried out; and the manufacturing cost is low.
