Benefits of technology

The present invention improves upon existing methods for tracking moving targets in cluttered environments. Compared to traditional methods, the present invention offers better tracking accuracy and stability, even in high clutter and with increased measurement error. It achieves this by considering the correlation probabilities of a set of measurements and using an iterative method to update the tracking information. Additionally, the invention uses Kalman filtering to update the target state, which effectively reduces the impact of measurement noise on tracking performance. The invention also incorporates prior knowledge of the road network to constrain the target state, resulting in improved estimation accuracy and correction of target movement direction. Finally, the invention utilizes a batch processing method, which optimizes the target track by processing multiple radar scan results together, reducing the influence of clutter on tracking performance.

Problems solved by technology

This technical problem addressed in this patents relates to improving the precision of detecting objects while reducing their impact upon surrounding areas like roads and buildings. Current techniques involve either increasing sensitivity towards jamming threat signals or eliminating irrelevant background sources during flight planning process. These improvements aim to improve overall object identification capabilities without compromising signal reception reliability.

Embodiment Construction

[0026] Normally, GMTI radar is more susceptible to clutter when tracking ground targets, and the echo data received by each radar scan contains both target and clutter information. The most basic assumption of PMHT is that one target can generate multiple measurements, and the associated variables are independent of each other, while one measurement can only come from one target or clutter. Combined with the EM method, the optimal tracking under the maximum likelihood condition can be obtained. PMHT avoids exhaustively enumerating all possible correlation events, so that the calculation amount is linearly related to the number of targets and measurements. At the same time, through the batch processing of echo data, the correlation and correlation between track and echo are optimized after a limited number of iterative cycles. smoothing estimate.

[0027] Assuming that the GMTI system tracks N targets at the same time, the state equation and measurement equation of the nth targ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a multi-target tracking method based on a ground moving target indication (GMTI) radar system. A filtering result is restricted and corrected by using road information on the basis of a probability multi-hypothesis tracking (PMHT) method so as to improve the tracking performance. In a track initiation and data relating stage, radar echo data are processed by using the PMHT method to confirm an effective track; in a target tracking stage, the motion state of the target is estimated by using Kalman filtering, and the filtered value is corrected by using the road information for a target entering a road network region so as to optimize a target track. The invention utilizes the PMHT and road restricting information to track a plurality of ground moving targets, thereby achieving better tracking precision and stability and further improving the performance of the whole GMTI system.
