The method comprises the following sequential steps: 1) leading the plant straws to carry out acid hydrolysis reaction so as to prepare furfural; 2) leading the furfural to carry out oxidation reaction so as to prepare fumaric acid; and 3) leading the fumaric acid and 2-octanol to carry out esterification reaction so as to prepare the fumaric acid ester.
