Abstract

The invention provides a media redirection system and a method thereof. The media redirection system comprises: a plurality of media location service system (MLSS) servers and a plurality of media servers. The MLSS servers manage the media servers. The media servers are used to report equipment information of the media servers to the MLSS servers that the media servers belong to and report a media redirection request to the MLSS servers that the media server belong to. The MISS servers are used to receive the equipment information reported by the media servers which are managed by the MISS servers and receive the media redirection request. The MISS servers determine whether there is the redirection object media server which satisfies a media request requirement in the media servers managed by the MISS servers according to the equipment information. If there is the redirection object media server, a media redirection response which includes a redirection object media server identification is sent to the equipment which sends the media redirection request. By using a technical scheme of the invention, a media redirection service processing speed can be accelerated.
