Abstract

The method comprises the following steps: selecting one of a first scanning mode and a second scanning mode; collecting a two-dimensional image of a text on a scanned medium by using an image collector; and cutting an effective image area in a corresponding scanning mode from the two-dimensional image by using the image collector according to the selected scanning mode, and transmitting the effective image area to a data processor to carry out subsequent processing. The invention also discloses a scanning device using the scanning-mode-selectable text collection method. By using the method and device disclosed by the invention, a user can select different scanning modes as required, thereby realizing an operation of carrying out single-line or multi-line scanning on a text on a scanned medium; and in the process of subsequent processing, a single line or multiple lines of to-be-identified texts can be extracted, therefore, the scanning speed and input speed of a scanning pen are improved.
