Abstract

The embodiment of the invention relates to the technical field of wireless communication, in particular to a method and equipment for transmitting positioning information. The method and the equipment are used for solving the problem that the positioning acquisition behavior of an evolved node B (eNB) serving as a positioning request initiator is redundant in a flow to cause the waste of signaling overhead in the prior art. The method in the embodiment of the invention comprises the following steps that: the eNB is determined as the positioning request initiator; and the eNB transmits a positioning request comprising uplink-time different of arrival (UTDOA) auxiliary data to a positioning request receiver after successfully allocating sounding reference signal (SRS) resources to user equipment. For a UTDOA positioning process triggered by the eNB which serves as the initiator, the eNB directly carries the UTDOA auxiliary data at the same time of transmission of the positioning request, so that overmuch signaling overhead is avoided, and the aim of optimizing a signaling flow is fulfilled.
