The vertical power-driven device comprises a motor, a two-gear mechanical automatic transmission and a dry clutch, wherein the two-gear mechanical automatic transmission comprises meshed gear pairs, an engagement sleeve T, an input shaft M, an intermediate shaft O and an output shaft N; the meshed gear pairs include gears (A, B, E, F and I); the meshed gear pair of gears (A and B) form the first gear; the gear pair of gears (E and F) form the second gear; the gear pair of gears (F and I) are meshed and used for outputting power; the driven part of the clutch is in rigid connection with the gear E; and gear alternation is realized by operating the engagement sleeve T and the clutch. The vertical power-driven device has the advantages that the efficient operation area of the motor can be effectively utilized; no power failure is required during gear alternation; the climbing capability is high; and the power-driven device is suitable for front-engine rear-drive arrangement.
