Abstract

The invention discloses a distributed video encoding and decoding method free of feedback and a system thereof. The method includes step1 dividing a video sequence into a key frame K frame and a key frame WZ frame at the encoding end; step2 enabling the K frame to adopt the inside-frame encoding and decoding mode to rebuild the K frame to output a K' frame; and step3 enabling the WZ frame to be subjected to discrete cosine transformation, quantification and information channel encoding to to generate a verification subsequence. The encoding end directly judges whether to transmit the verification subsequence to the decoding end or not, then side information generated by the K' frame at the decoding end is combined with the verification subsequence to be decoded, and finally the WZ frame is rebuilt to output a WZ' frame. The system can obtain whether decoding succeeds or not without feedback information of the decoding end, and further determines transmitted proper code rate. The method and the system improve side information quality, further improves performance for rebuilding the WZ frame, simplify the distributed video encoding scheme, and effectively improves distributed video encoding performance.
