Abstract

The invention relates to a method and a device for cloning MAC (Memory Address Counter) address and CPE (Customer Premise Equipment). The method comprises the following steps of obtaining MAC address which is to be cloned by the CPE; copying system configuration information to a system starting information document; writing the MAC address in a specified address position in the system starting information document; and writing the system starting information document in a system booting firmware of the CPE. The device comprises a first module, a second module, a third module and a fourth module, wherein the first module is used for obtaining the MAC address which is to be cloned by the CPE; the second module is used for copying the system configuration information to the system starting information document; the third module is used for writing the MAC address in the specified address position in the system starting information document; and the fourth module is used for writing the system starting information document in the system booting firmware of the CPE.
