Abstract

The invention discloses an insecticidal composition containing thiamethoxam, which comprises thiamethoxam and cnidium lactone as active components. The weight ratio of thiamethoxam to cnidium lactone is 50:1-1:50. The invention relates to an application of the insecticidal composition containing thiamethoxam in controlling homoptera. The insecticidal composition and the application have the advantages that the composition comprises the two active ingredients of which mechanisms of action are totally different, thiamethoxam has systemic, stomach toxicity and contact activity, and cnidium lactone inhibits acetylcholin esterase of insects, influences nervous systems, allows the injurious insects to have nonfunctional muscle contraction and finally die due to exhaustion, is helpful for retarding resistance development of thiamethoxam, and prolongs the service life of an agent. Thiamethoxam and cnidium lactone are compounded to exert obvious synergistic action, after an effect is improved, the use amount and use frequency of the active ingredients are reduced, the use cost is lowered, and the pollution to an environment is reduced. The composition can extend an insecticidal spectrum.
