Abstract

The invention provides a bioelectrochemical system and a method for treating sewage, generating electric energy and assisting fermentation. The system comprises a bioreactor, wherein the bioreactor comprises a cathode chamber and an anode chamber, a cathode and an anode are respectively arranged in the cathode chamber and the anode chamber, different microbial active matters are respectively arranged in the cathode chamber and the anode chamber, two chambers are separated through a membrane (a proton exchange membrane, a cation exchange membrane and an anion exchange membrane), a proton produced in the anode chamber is capable of migrating through the membrane so that the two chambers are electrically communicated with each other in the reactor and the electric energy is capable of generating in the operation of the bioreactor. The bioelectrochemical system provided by the invention is simple in structure and low in cost, a certain sewage treatment effect and power generation performance are realized, and the fermentation process of the cathode microbe can be promoted.
