The present invention relates to mechanical interlocking features for multi-material airfoils. An airfoil having a first parent material and a second wrap material, wherein the parent material and the wrap material are at least partially different materials, and wherein an interlocking region is formed between the parent material and the wrap material and has an interlocking lock features.

Background technique [0002] In a turbine engine, air is pressurized in a compressor and mixed with fuel in a combustor to generate hot combustion gases, which flow downstream through turbine stages.
