Abstract

The invention relates to process for production of methane rich gas and related technical equipment employing the method. The method comprises the steps of guiding syngas to a main methanation stage including one or more reactors, extracting first result gas from a first methanation stage, cooling the first result gas, extracting liquid condensate and intermediate feeding gas, heating intermediate feeding gas, allowing the intermediate feeding gas to react in a final methanation reactor with the presence of methanation catalytic active material to form final methane rich gas, extracting heat from the final methanation reactor through a cooling medium in heat transferable contact with the methanation catalytic active material or gas in the final methanation reactor. The method has the effect of remaining low reaction temperature in at least partial final methanation stage, thereby chemical equilibrium shifting to methane and obtaining high methane conversion rate.
