Abstract

The purpose of the present invention is to determine the necessary bus bandwidth for a performance guarantee for requested performance differing for each piece of traffic transmitted on a network-on-chip (NoC) bus without over-estimating, and furthermore increase the usage efficiency of the surplus bandwidth thereof. In a NoC bus system, data is transmitted between a first node and a second node via a relay device. The data includes performance guarantee data that guarantees at least one of throughput and permitted delay time. The first node generates a plurality of packets that include the transmitted data as well as identification information for identifying the requested performance for the transmitted data, and controls the transmission of the plurality of packets. The relay device includes a buffer unit that separates received packets with respect to each requested performance on the basis of the identification information and stores the separated packets, and a relay control unit that controls the transmission of each packet stored in the buffer unit by using a transmission rate greater than or equal to the total value of all transmission rates that the first node should guarantee corresponding to each piece of identification information.
