Problems solved by technology

However, this known fence has the disadvantage that it still leaves multiple openings between the posts and the rails
Unfortunately, these openings are large enough to allow persons to accidentally fall through the openings
[0009] In addition, tools or other objects can accidentally fall through the opening and hit people below, and since these tools and objects are usually heavy, these people can be seriously injured
[0010] Another disadvantage of the above-mentioned known guardrails is that the posts and rails are in fact relatively long and are therefore difficult and dangerous to maneuver in the usually narrow spaces near the edges of the open floor
[0011] Because these open floors are often inaccessible and at relatively high elevations, transporting these long posts and rails to these floors or to the ground is even more difficult
[0012] Furthermore, the posts and rails of this known guardrail are assembled by means of connections such as hinges, which makes the guardrail unstable and easily damaged
[0013] The connection of the cross-joints between the posts of this known guardrail and the cross-rails is more difficult due to the fact that the long rails must be manually held in the desired horizontal position during assembly.
[0014] Assembly of such guardrails is also very time consuming due to the many such connections that need to be performed to assemble the posts and rails into a complete guardrail that runs along the edge of an open floor slab
[0015] Such guardrails are usually only used for a limited period of time, after which they need to be dismantled and removed from the slab, whereby the above problems reappear in reverse order

Embodiment Construction

[0062] The guard rail shown in the accompanying drawings is used to prevent people on the open floor of a building or scaffolding from falling through openings in the floor and being injured.

[0063] In this case, the construction element 1 (eg image 3 and Figure 4 shown) is formed from a square or rectangular plate 3 having a flange 4 extending along the periphery of the plate whereby the flange is formed with a first flap 5 perpendicular to the plate and a The second hem 6 of the first hem.

[0064] The element may be made in one piece, eg from metal or plastic, or may be a metal, plastic or wooden plate with separate flanges attached at the edges.

[0065] Within the scope of the invention, the element can also be formed as a mesh (not shown) fastened to a peripheral frame.

[0066] figure 1 and figure 2 The pipe section 2 in this case has an approximately square cross-section with pairs of opposite sides 7 and 8 .

Abstract

A guardrail serves for protecting persons being present on open floors (31) of buildings or scaffolds against accidentally falling out of the opening of such floors (31). The guardrail comprises a number of constructional elements (1) and of connectors for assembling said constructional elements to a coherent guardrail. The connectors comprise at least one first connector (2) which has a longitudinal shape and is formed with at least one longitudinal extending slot (13), and at least one second connector (19,20) consisting of a first connector part (20) to be connected to the at least one constructional element (1) and a second connector part (19) to connect the first connector part (20) to the at least one first connector (2) while engaging the at least one longitudinal extending slot (13) of the connector. The guardrail of the invention has a stable and at the same time cheap and simple structure which quickly and easily can be assembled to a coherent guardrail and be disassembled again. The guardrail can moreover be fitted to the width and height required of the guardrail for a specific opening of a given open floor.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a guardrail for preventing persons existing on an open floor of a building or a scaffold from accidentally falling from an opening of the floor. The guardrail includes a plurality of construction elements and connectors for assembling the construction elements into a coherent guardrail. [0002] The invention also relates to a method of assembling said guardrail. Background technique [0003] The term "constructive element" in the sense of the present invention refers to a device having a relatively large extension in two dimensions and a relatively small thickness in a third dimension, preferably without any openings Or at least not have any openings large enough to allow people to pass through. [0004] During the construction of some multi-storey buildings, the outer walls around the floor slabs are usually not yet built. A similar situation exists during scaffolding. [0005] Personnel on such open floors, such as worke...
