Abstract

A device (30) and a method are described and claimed for stretching a film web (24) along its longitudinal direction (z), in which the film web is guided in a transport direction (z) by a plurality of rollers (22, 23, 31, 32, 33, 36 and 37), and in which the film web is stretched in at least one stretching gap (21) that is bounded by at least two rollers (22, 23, 33 and 36), which are operated at different circumferential speeds. It is considered novel and inventive that the web is provided with a temperature gradient, the direction of which is transverse to the longitudinal axis of the film web.
