The electronic tobacco comprises a power battery as well as a microcontroller and a vaporizer which are respectively connected with the power battery, wherein the microcontroller is provided with a first timing module, a comparison module and a control module; the first timing module is used for timing; the comparison module is used for comparing the timing time of the first timing module with the preset timing time; the control module is used for controlling the power battery of the electronic tobacco to stop supplying power to the vaporizer when timing time is greater than or equal to the preset timing time according to the comparison result of the comparison module; the preset timing time is equal to the quality guarantee period of the electronic tobacco and is set and stored by the microcontroller. The method has the beneficial effects that when the quality guarantee period of the electronic tobacco is over, the electronic tobacco does not operate, and a user is reminded, so that the taste and safety of the electronic tobacco used by the user are ensured.
