Abstract

The invention is a heating abnormality detection device. Said heating abnormality detection device is provided with: at least one photometric detection section that detects the luminosity of the periphery of a heated member; a background luminosity setting section that for each photometric detection section, sets the luminosity detected by the relevant photometric detection section before an electrical heating section has started heating, said luminosity being set as a background luminosity; and a heating abnormality assessment section. After the electrical heating section has started heating, for each photometric detection section, said heating abnormality assessment section performs a luminosity comparison that determines whether or not a difference is larger than a specified luminosity increase threshold value, said difference being the difference between a heating-time luminosity and the background luminosity, said heating-time luminosity being a luminosity detected by the photometric detection section after the start of the heating, said background luminosity having been set by the background luminosity setting section. If in at least one photometric detection section, a luminosity excess state exists in which the aforementioned difference is greater than the luminosity increase threshold, said heating abnormality assessment section assesses that a heating abnormality has occurred.
