Abstract

Systems, methods, and receiver devices can use a restricted content allowing area (e.g., a designated market area (DMA)) broadcaster via an Internet-based (OTT) IP network to distribute content. Each embodiment enables the client to report and authenticate and broadcast content encryption. In one embodiment, the information from the client (e.g., viewing history / usage report) may be reported back to the broadcaster. In one embodiment, the switching between DMA may be enabled. In one embodiment, the local ad insertion in the network content may be enabled. Each embodiment may also use a multicast across the DMA boundary - broadcast single frequency network (MBSFN) operation.
