The method for creating the eye template is capable of accurately positioning the pupil position, so that the created eye template is accurate and reliable. The method for detecting the eye state comprises the following steps: obtaining the eye template by use of the method for creating the eye template; searching a to-be-detected region; determining the region matched with the eye template as a to-be-detected eye region; determining the eye state based on the similarity degree of the eye template and the to-be-detected eye region. The method for detecting the eye state is capable of effectively improving the eye state detection accuracy and has better robustness for spectacles, head shaking, illumination condition transformation and the like.
